The Solid Hope Practice Distinctives
Solid Hope engages in the following distinctives in addition to the values inherent in all interpersonal professional counselling & psychotherapy. Following an approach that is first Christ-centred, Integrative, Practical, & Empowering. We also utilise a propriatery integrative counselling model developed by our founder called Restorative Hope Therapy.
Jesus Christ is the Hope of the World. Counselling from this perspective, that Jesus is our hope, our solid foundation, and our wonderful counsellor means that each and every session has a place of solidarity & inherent hope to come back to.
CHRIST-CENTRED
This doesn’t mean the answer to every problem is as simple as saying “Jesus” or “pray more” or “have more faith”. It means that our world has been broken, but that there is still much good that God has put for us to walk in. Using Jesus and the unerring truth of the scripture as a grounding helps us find a way forward.
God has given us the ability to grow, adapt, change, and learn. It is a wonderful gift. With Christ as our strength we are able to move forward in this life. No matter what we have or will experience, there is a way forward. With this in mind, at Solid Hope we empower you as the client to implement change and growth in your situation.
EMPOWERING
With hope, strength, support, and effective strategies the possibilities are in front of us. Though not every situation can have total healing, shift, or relief there is always hope.
Sometimes getting to the heart of a particular issue can take time. Each of us carry different experiences, weights, and unknown factors. Real change occurs when a problem is understood, processed, and a new path forward is found. But there are always practical ways to walk forward as we learn together. Each and every person is different, but there are commonalities to our human experience. These commonalities mean that there is practical wisdom that can be brought to bear in a wide-array of situations.
PRACTICAL
The science of psychology and it’s practice is still relatively new compared to the other sciences. Within this school there is a constantly evolving and growing knowledge and practice base. Some practices stick to one model of psychotherapy in order to provide consistency across a wide array of clients
INTEGRATIVE
At Solid Hope we build on our own model - Restorative Hope Therapy. This is an integrative approach blending many models and enables a better and more comprehensive approach to client care.
